Casandra Diamond

Founder & Executive Director

As a survivor of sex trafficking in Canada, Casandra is a provincially and nationally recognized anti-trafficking leader in Canada, serving as a trusted advisor to all levels of government.  In 2014, Casandra founded BridgeNorth Women’s Mentorship & Advocacy Services, a registered charitable organization based in York Region, Ontario, dedicated to ending sex trafficking in Canada through direct service, public education, and advocacy.  Casandra uses a grassroots, multi-faceted, strength-based, trauma-informed care approach, applying lived experience and direct knowledge to provide holistic care to exploited and trafficked persons through prevention strategies, exit strategies, and safety planning.  Read Cassandra’s full bio here.

Janice R. Moro

President

Janice R. Moro is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with over 25 years of experience in organizational leadership in for-profit and charitable sectors. Janice holds an MBA and BSW and is currently completing MSW studies. She is a Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL) and holds multiple certifications, including Addictions Case Management  and Project Management.  Janice has worked tirelessly in support of women and girls by successfully developing programs addressing social sector challenges. These include: suburban homelessness for lone-parent, female-led families, Indigenous-led urban housing for women, housing for women with lived experience of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, and global multi-lateral projects to decrease gender-based violence while increasing women’s health, education, and economic growth.  Janice is a strong advocate in mental health, substance misuse, and concurrent disorders, and is a current Board Member with the Center for Grief and Healing in Peel/Halton Regions. She served for six years on the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) Halton/Peel Grant Review Team and was invited to lead the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Youth Opportunities Fund for two years.
