Peer Mentorship

BridgeNorth’s Peer Mentor Program develops leaders who directly help women and girls affected by human trafficking and sexual exploitation. The program is survivor-led by persons with lived experience who have successfully exited from human trafficking. They are thoroughly trained by BridgeNorth to become effective peer mentors and advocates.

Using their training and lived experience, peer mentors work alongside women and girls to help prevent them from being trafficked in the first place or empower them to transform their life completely. Peer mentors take a trauma-informed approach that educates participants on strategies and skills, as well as connecting them with community resources to live a healthy, thriving life free from trafficking and exploitation.

Peer support is at the heart of what we do. If you are currently experiencing sexual exploitation in any form, please know we understand. We’ve lived it and, as survivors, we are in a unique position to help. Food, rest, shelter – come to us with your needs, no matter how simple or complex. When you’re ready, we’ll be able to help you create a plan based on the goals that you will identify for yourself.

You are not alone when you join the BridgeNorth Peer Mentor program.
